Synopsis

A killer is taking victims' lives and leaving behind mysterious pieces to a bizarre puzzle. Lincoln Rhyme (Washington), a former homicide investigator, is the only person who may be able to make sense of the serial killer's deranged plan. But Lincoln is powerless, as after a tragic accident, he has been left a quadriplegic. Then Lincoln meets a young rookie cop, Amelia Donaghy (Jolie), and she agrees to become his eyes and ears on the case. Tensions rise and the danger increases as the killer senses the cops closing in, and Rhyme realizes that he and his partner are on the trail of a vicious, sadistic murderer who will stop at nothing on his deadly mission... He knows they must see as one, they must act as one, they must think as one, if they are to catch the killer before the next victim falls.
